What Makes the Schecter C-4 Standard Special?
The C-4 Standard brings together a straightforward 4-string format and several features normally associated with more performance-focused instruments. Its mahogany body and figured burl top give the Tobacco Burl version a distinctive premium appearance, while black binding and black hardware provide a clean contemporary contrast. The roasted maple Thin "C" neck, 16" fingerboard radius and 24 jumbo frets create a smooth playing surface suitable for both traditional bass techniques and more technical styles.
Two Schecter Diamond Standard Soapbar pickups give the C-4 Standard plenty of tonal flexibility without relying on complicated active electronics. Independent volume and tone controls for the neck and bridge pickups make it easy to move between warmer, deeper sounds and a more defined bridge-pickup character or blend the two to suit the song, amplifier and playing technique.
Who Is It For?
The Schecter C-4 Standard is a strong all-round choice for players who want a modern bass that remains familiar and straightforward to use.
It is particularly well suited to:

Why Choose A 4-String Bass?
A 4-string bass in standard E-A-D-G tuning remains the most familiar and widely used electric bass format. Its manageable neck width and straightforward range make it comfortable for developing players while still providing everything experienced bassists need for the vast majority of musical situations.
The C-4 Standard adds a modern Schecter feel to this familiar format. Its slim neck, 24-fret range and dual soapbar pickup arrangement give players additional flexibility without making the instrument unnecessarily complicated.

FAQs
Is the Schecter C-4 Standard a 4-string bass?
Yes. The C-4 Standard uses the familiar 4-string E-A-D-G format, making it suitable for a huge range of musical styles.
What is the body made from?
The Tobacco Burl version combines a mahogany body with a figured burl top, creating a distinctive natural appearance.
Is every burl top exactly the same?
Natural figuring varies from piece to piece, so the precise grain and pattern of a figured burl top can differ between individual instruments. This helps give each bass its own visual character.
What pickups does the C-4 Standard use?
It features two Schecter Diamond Standard Soapbar pickups, one at the neck and one at the bridge.
Does it have active electronics?
No. The C-4 Standard uses passive pickups and passive tone controls, so there is no onboard preamp battery to maintain.
Can the pickups be adjusted separately?
Yes. Each pickup has its own volume and tone control, allowing the neck and bridge sounds to be balanced and shaped independently.
What is the scale length?
The bass uses a standard 34-inch scale length, providing a familiar balance of string tension, definition and playing comfort.
What is the neck made from?
It features a roasted maple neck with Schecter's Thin "C" profile.
What is the benefit of a roasted maple neck?
Roasting removes moisture from the wood under controlled conditions, helping improve dimensional stability while also giving the maple its distinctive darker appearance.
What fingerboard does it have?
The C-4 Standard has a rosewood fingerboard with a relatively flat 16" radius.
How many frets does it have?
It features 24 jumbo frets, providing a full two-octave range on each string.
Is it suitable for rock and metal?
Yes. The Diamond Standard soapbar pickups can deliver the definition and punch required for rock, alternative and heavier styles, particularly when using the bridge pickup or blending both pickups.
Can it cover warmer traditional bass sounds?
Yes. Bringing in more of the neck pickup and adjusting the individual tone controls allows the C-4 Standard to produce warmer and rounder sounds as well as more modern, articulate tones.
Is it suitable as an upgrade from a beginner bass?
Absolutely. Its comfortable Thin "C" neck, 24-fret range, dual-pickup electronics and solid hardware make it an excellent progression from a basic starter instrument.
Does it come with a hard case?
No. A compatible Schecter SGR Universal Bass Hardcase is available separately.
