What Makes the Schecter C-5 Standard Special?

The C-5 Standard gives players access to the extended range of a 5-string bass while retaining the fast, modern feel associated with Schecter. Its 35" scale length helps maintain definition and tension on the low B string, while the roasted maple Thin "C" neck, 16" fingerboard radius and 24 jumbo frets create a comfortable playing platform for everything from solid rhythm work to more technical bass lines.

A pair of Schecter Diamond Standard Soapbar pickups keeps the electronics flexible without unnecessary complexity. Each pickup has its own volume and tone control, allowing players to blend the warmer neck sound with the more focused bridge response or use either pickup independently. The understated Charcoal Satin finish, black hardware and crème binding complete a modern appearance that works equally well on stage or in the studio.

Who Is It For?

The Schecter C-5 Standard is ideal for bassists who want the additional range of a low B string without moving into an overly complicated or specialised instrument.

It is particularly well suited to:

  • Rock and hard-rock bassists

  • Metal and progressive players

  • Alternative musicians

  • Players moving from 4-string to 5-string bass

  • Bassists who regularly use lower-register parts

  • Home and studio recording

  • Rehearsing and live performance

  • Players who prefer a longer 35" scale

  • Bassists who value a fast, modern neck

  • Intermediate and experienced musicians

Why Choose A 5-String Bass?

A 5-string bass adds a low B string below the conventional E-A-D-G tuning, extending the instrument's range without requiring frequent retuning. This is particularly useful for modern rock, metal, gospel, progressive music, contemporary pop and any situation where deeper notes are required.

The C-5 Standard's 35-inch scale length is particularly useful on a 5-string instrument. The additional scale length helps provide greater tension and definition on the lowest string, giving bass lines a more controlled response and helping low notes remain articulate in a full band mix.
