The 2009 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Ebony is a USA-made solid-body electric guitar built during Gibson’s late-2000s redesign period, incorporating a mix of traditional Les Paul construction and modern hardware features. It uses a chambered mahogany body with a carved maple top, finished in gloss nitrocellulose ebony black, paired with a set mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. The guitar uses a 24.75-inch scale length, a 12-inch fingerboard radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets, with an asymmetrical SlimTaper neck profile introduced during the 2008 redesign generation.

The hardware specification includes a locking Tune-o-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, Grover locking tuners, and Gibson’s locking output jack system introduced during that era.
