Fender Mike McCready Stratocaster Electric Guitar, (Used)
The Fender Mike McCready Stratocaster is an artist signature model developed in collaboration with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, based directly on his heavily worn 1960 Stratocaster. It features an alder body finished in a hand-applied Road Worn nitrocellulose lacquer treatment that recreates the wear patterns, dents, and finish checking from McCready’s original instrument. The guitar uses a bolt-on maple neck with a slab rosewood fingerboard, a slim early-1960s “C” profile, a 25.5-inch scale length, and 21 Jescar medium vintage frets.
The hardware includes a vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles and a cold-rolled steel block, vintage-style tuning machines, and a bone nut. The neck and body dimensions are shaped to closely match McCready’s original 1960 Stratocaster, including the 9.5-inch fingerboard radius and period-correct hardware layout. The aged cosmetic treatment extends across the finish, plastics, and metal components to reproduce the appearance of a heavily toured vintage instrument.
The electronics consist of three custom Mike McCready vintage-style single-coil pickups wired through a five-position selector switch with master volume and dual tone controls. A treble bleed circuit is integrated into the wiring to retain high-frequency response when lowering the volume control. The pickup set is voiced to replicate the output and tonal characteristics of McCready’s original early-1960s Strat pickups, focusing on strong midrange articulation, clear upper harmonics, and vintage-style Stratocaster response.
