The Greco Mirage MK780 PS is a Japanese-made solid-body electric guitar produced during the late 1970s as part of Greco’s original design lineup. It features an offset single-cutaway body shape inspired by futuristic and asymmetrical guitar styling popular during the era, finished in a gloss polyester coating. The construction uses a set-neck design with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, built to a 24.75-inch scale length with 22 frets.

The hardware includes a Tune-o-Matic-style bridge paired with a stop tailpiece, along with sealed tuning machines mounted on an angled headstock. The body shape incorporates deep contours and extended horns that distinguish the Mirage series from more traditional Gibson- or Fender-style instruments. The MK780 PS model was positioned as one of the higher-spec Mirage variants within Greco’s catalogue during the period.

The electronics consist of dual humbucking pickups controlled through a three-way selector switch with independent volume and tone controls for each pickup. The wiring layout follows a traditional dual-humbucker configuration, allowing separate adjustment of bridge and neck output levels. Greco manufactured these instruments in Japan during the “lawsuit era” period, when Japanese factories became known for high-precision production and detailed construction methods.
