The Yamaha YDP-S36B Arius Digital Piano Bundle in Black combines Yamaha’s slimline 88-note home digital piano with a coordinated Stagg PBF39 BKM VBK adjustable piano bench and Yamaha HPH-50B headphones.

At the centre of the package is the Yamaha YDP-S36B Arius Digital Piano in Black.

Designed for homes where floor space matters, the YDP-S36 uses a notably slimmer, more contemporary cabinet than Yamaha’s traditional upright-style Arius models while retaining the essential features needed for serious home piano practice.

Its 88-note Graded Hammer Standard – GHS keyboard provides graduated weighting across the keyboard, with a heavier feel towards the bass and progressively lighter response towards the treble.

The main piano Voice is sampled from Yamaha’s flagship CFX concert grand piano, while Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite – VRM Lite recreates elements of the complex sympathetic resonance that occurs inside an acoustic grand piano.

The YDP-S36 also provides 10 Voices, 353 preset Songs, three pedals with half-pedalling, Bluetooth connectivity, Smart Pianist integration and headphone practice, while its 8W × 2 amplification system drives twin 12cm speakers with diffuser grilles. Yamaha specifically positions the model as a slim, stylish digital piano suited to beginners and home practice.

This Fair Deal Music bundle then completes the setup with two practical accessories.

The Stagg PBF39 BKM VBK adjustable piano bench provides a dedicated playing seat with a black matt finish and black velvet fireproof top, while the Yamaha HPH-50B closed-back headphones provide private practice whenever the built-in speakers would be inconvenient.

WHY THIS BUNDLE MAKES SENSE

The YDP-S36B is designed for customers who want a proper 88-note home piano without giving up more floor space than necessary.

This bundle completes that idea.

The slimline Yamaha cabinet keeps the footprint visually lighter.

The adjustable Stagg bench gives the player a dedicated seating position.

The Yamaha HPH-50B headphones allow private practice whenever the internal speakers would be disruptive.

That makes the package particularly practical for:

• Flats and apartments

• Bedrooms

• Smaller living rooms

• Students

• Family homes

• Shared accommodation

• Evening practice

• Early-morning practice

• Customers who want a more contemporary piano cabinet

YAMAHA YDP-S36B – THE SLIMLINE ARIUS

The defining feature of the YDP-S36 is its cabinet.

Yamaha designed it to offer the playing essentials of an Arius digital piano in a slimmer, more contemporary format.

When the keyboard lid is closed, the top forms a flatter surface and gives the piano a clean furniture appearance.

Yamaha specifically highlights its:

• Compact body

• Flat appearance when closed

• Rounded cabinet details

• Suitability for smaller home spaces

That makes it especially attractive where a traditional upright-style digital piano cabinet would feel too bulky.

88-NOTE GRADED HAMMER STANDARD KEYBOARD

The YDP-S36B uses Yamaha’s Graded Hammer Standard – GHS keyboard.

The action is weighted:

• Heavier towards the bass

• Progressively lighter towards the treble

This mirrors the broad weighting relationship found across an acoustic piano keyboard.

For students and developing pianists, a full 88-note weighted action is particularly important because it allows repertoire, fingering and dynamics to be practised across the correct keyboard range. Yamaha also notes improved sensor response for intricate playing such as grace notes and trills.

MATT BLACK KEYTOPS

Yamaha specifies matt black keytops on the YDP-S36.

The non-gloss surface contributes to a more tactile playing feel than conventional shiny plastic black keys.

YAMAHA CFX CONCERT GRAND PIANO VOICE

The main piano Voice is sampled from Yamaha’s flagship CFX concert grand piano.

Yamaha describes the CFX Voice as providing rich tonal colour across the keyboard and sufficient dynamic expression to respond to a wide variety of playing styles.

VIRTUAL RESONANCE MODELING LITE – VRM LITE

Acoustic grand pianos create complex resonance as strings interact with other strings and respond to pedal use.

Yamaha’s VRM Lite recreates elements of these interactions digitally.

The resonance changes according to the keys being played and how far the pedals are depressed, helping the YDP-S36 sound more connected than basic sample playback alone.

THREE-PEDAL SYSTEM

The YDP-S36 includes:

• Damper

• Soft

• Sostenuto

The damper pedal supports half-pedalling, allowing the amount of sustain to change according to pedal depth.

Yamaha specifically highlights the pedal system as an important part of the expressive playing interface.

10 BUILT-IN VOICES

The YDP-S36 provides 10 Voices, including:

• Piano

• Electric piano

• Pipe organ

• Vibraphone

• Strings

The instrument remains fundamentally piano-focused, while these additional sounds allow extra variety and layering.

353 PRESET SONGS

The YDP-S36 provides 353 preset Songs, including:

• 50 Classical Masterpieces

• 303 exercises and lesson pieces

Yamaha specifically references material associated with Beyer, Burgmüller, Czerny and Hanon, giving developing pianists a substantial built-in practice library.

DIFFUSER GRILLE SPEAKER SYSTEM

The YDP-S36 uses:

8W × 2 amplification

with:

12cm speakers with diffuser grilles × 2

Yamaha states that the diffuser grille improves treble clarity at a distance and helps create a balanced sound field for both player and listener.

HEADPHONE PRACTICE

The YDP-S36 is designed for private headphone practice as well as speaker use.

This bundle already includes Yamaha HPH-50B headphones, so quiet practice is available immediately.

That can be especially useful in:

• Flats

• Shared homes

• Family environments

• Late-night practice

• Early mornings

STEREOPHONIC OPTIMIZER

Yamaha’s Stereophonic Optimizer is designed to make headphone practice feel more spatial and natural.

Instead of making the piano sound appear to originate directly inside the listener’s ears, Yamaha aims to simulate a broader acoustic spread more like sitting in front of an actual piano.

BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY

The YDP-S36 includes Bluetooth connectivity.

Yamaha specifically promotes Bluetooth for:

• Streaming music

• Playing along with favourite tracks

• Controlling compatible settings

• Connecting with learning applications

SMART PIANIST

The YDP-S36 integrates with Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app.

Yamaha highlights:

• Simplified controls from a connected device

• Sheet music for all 353 preset Songs

• Practice-support functions

• Recording and saving performance data

Yamaha also promotes wireless connection to Smart Pianist through Bluetooth.

STAGG PBF39 BKM VBK ADJUSTABLE PIANO BENCH

Correct seating height matters for:

• Wrist position

• Arm height

• Shoulder comfort

• Finger control

• Pedal access

The included Stagg PBF39 BKM VBK gives the player a dedicated adjustable seat rather than requiring them to use unsuitable household furniture.

• Matt black keytops

• Yamaha CFX Voice

• VRM Lite

• 10 Voices

SLIMLINE CABINET & PLACEMENT

The YDP-S36 is specifically designed for spaces where a conventional cabinet digital piano may feel too deep or visually heavy.

Yamaha highlights:

• A slim compact body

• A flat appearance when the lid is closed

• Rounded cabinet details

• A contemporary furniture style

• Suitability for apartments, living rooms and smaller home spaces

This makes it a particularly strong choice for customers who want a dedicated 88-note three-pedal piano without committing as much room to a traditional upright-style cabinet.

BLACK FINISH

The B suffix identifies the Black version of the YDP-S36.

The Black cabinet pairs naturally with:

• Stagg PBF39 BKM VBK Black Matt bench

• Yamaha HPH-50B Black headphones

giving the complete package a clean and consistent appearance.

🎵 FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★

Best suited for: Beginners, students, families and returning pianists who want a proper 88-note Yamaha home piano but prefer a slimmer, more contemporary cabinet than the conventional YDP-146 format.

Likely upgrade path: Particularly relevant for players moving from portable keyboards or compact digital pianos who want integrated pedals and a furniture-style instrument without a bulky cabinet.

Useful pairings: Yamaha Smart Pianist on a compatible phone or tablet.

Our tip: If you’re choosing between the YDP-S36 and YDP-146, don’t overthink the sound specification — they share a great deal. The real question is the room. Choose the YDP-S36 when the slimmer cabinet and flat-closing design make it easier to live with.

FDM view: The YDP-S36 is one of the most practical Arius models for modern homes. You still get an 88-note GHS action, CFX piano sound, VRM Lite, three pedals, Bluetooth and Smart Pianist, but in a cabinet that looks lighter and occupies less space. Add the adjustable Stagg bench and Yamaha headphones and this becomes a very sensible complete package for everyday home practice.
