Ibanez Q547 Headless 7-String Electric Guitar in Blue Chameleon Metallic Matte Electric Guitar, (Used, Comm)
The Ibanez Q547 Headless 7-String Electric Guitar in Blue Chameleon Metallic Matte is part of Ibanez’s Quest (Q) series, developed as a purpose-built headless design rather than an adaptation of existing models. It features a compact, ergonomic nyatoh body constructed to be lightweight while maintaining a solid, non-chambered structure for resonance. The guitar is paired with a bolt-on 5-piece roasted maple and bubinga Wizard “C” neck and a roasted birdseye maple fingerboard, built to a 25.5-inch (648 mm) scale length with 24 frets and a relatively flat radius for modern playing styles.
The electronics consist of an HSS configuration using two R1-7 single-coil pickups in the neck and middle positions and a Q58-7 humbucker at the bridge. These are controlled via a five-way selector switch, master volume, and master tone, along with Ibanez’s dyna-MIX9 switching system and Alter Switch, which expands the pickup combinations to nine distinct tonal variations. This system allows switching between humbucking and single-coil voicings while maintaining clarity and balance across all seven strings.
Hardware includes a proprietary Mono-Tune bridge system with individual saddles for wide intonation adjustment, along with a custom string locking mechanism at the headstock end, eliminating the need for traditional tuning machines. The Blue Chameleon Metallic Matte finish is a satin polyurethane coating that shifts in appearance under different lighting conditions, applied over the contoured body design. The overall construction emphasises reduced weight, compact dimensions, and modern hardware integration within a headless format.
