Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster in Vintage White, (Used)
The Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster in Vintage White is an artist-signature offset electric guitar developed in collaboration with J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. It features a basswood body in the classic Jazzmaster shape, paired with a maple neck and an Indian laurel fingerboard. The instrument is built to a 25.5-inch scale length with 21 jumbo frets and a 9.5-inch radius, giving it a modern, slightly flatter playing feel compared to vintage Jazzmasters.
The electronics consist of two Fender-designed Jazzmaster single-coil pickups with a traditional dual-circuit layout. This includes a “lead” circuit with standard volume and tone controls and a “rhythm” circuit with dedicated thumbwheel controls for the neck pickup, along with a three-way selector switch. The configuration is designed to provide a wide range of tones, from bright and cutting bridge sounds to warmer neck-focused settings, all within a passive wiring system.
Hardware includes an Adjusto-Matic bridge paired with a vintage-style floating tremolo system, along with vintage-style tuning machines for stable tuning performance. The Vintage White finish is applied in gloss polyurethane, complemented by period-inspired aesthetic details such as a large ’60s-style headstock and aged-style plastic appointments.
