2009 PRS SE Singlecut Trem Tobacco Sunburst, (Used)
Description
The 2009 PRS SE Singlecut Trem in Tobacco Sunburst combines the familiar weight, sustain and visual presence of a PRS single-cutaway design with the added versatility of a PRS-designed tremolo bridge.
Built in Korea during the highly regarded early SE production era, this model features a mahogany body with a maple top and flame-maple veneer, a set mahogany neck with PRS's comfortable Wide Fat profile, and a rosewood fingerboard.
A pair of PRS-designed humbuckers provides the broad, full-bodied response expected from a dual-humbucker guitar, while the tremolo bridge adds expressive pitch control that sets this version apart from the stoptail SE Singlecut.
This Pre-Owned example is in Very Good condition, weighs an actual 7.4 lbs, carries serial number J07729, and is supplied without a case.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
The SE Singlecut Trem offers a useful middle ground between a traditional dual-humbucker single-cut guitar and a more modern tremolo-equipped instrument.
Its mahogany construction and set neck give it the warmth, sustain and strong midrange players often look for in this style of guitar, while the maple top adds definition and visual character.
The PRS tremolo makes the guitar noticeably more versatile than a stoptail Singlecut, allowing subtle chord shimmer, expressive dips and pitch movement without changing the basic feel of the instrument.
DETAILED FEATURES & BENEFITS
Mahogany Body
The mahogany body provides a strong midrange foundation with plenty of sustain and low-end weight, making the SE Singlecut Trem particularly effective for rock, blues and driven guitar sounds.
Maple Top with Flame Veneer
A maple top adds extra definition to the mahogany body, while the flame-maple veneer gives the Tobacco Sunburst finish greater visual depth.
Set Mahogany Neck
The set-neck construction helps create the connected, sustained response associated with traditional single-cutaway guitars and provides a smooth transition between neck and body.
Wide Fat Neck Profile
PRS's Wide Fat profile has a substantial but comfortable feel that works particularly well for chord playing, blues bends and players who prefer something fuller than an ultra-thin modern neck.
Rosewood Fingerboard
The rosewood fingerboard provides a familiar smooth playing surface and complements the warmer character of the mahogany neck and body.
25" Scale Length
The 25" scale sits between common Gibson and Fender scale lengths, giving the guitar a useful balance between comfortable string tension and clear note definition.
Dual PRS-Designed Humbuckers
A pair of PRS-designed humbuckers provides a broad tonal range, from warmer neck-pickup sounds through to a more focused bridge response for rhythm and lead playing.
PRS Tremolo Bridge
The tremolo bridge gives this version of the SE Singlecut greater expressive range than the stoptail model, while retaining the solid feel and simplicity associated with PRS hardware.
7.4 lbs Actual Weight
This individual guitar weighs an actual 7.4 lbs, giving buyers a precise indication of how this specific example will feel rather than relying on a generic catalogue figure.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The PRS SE Singlecut Trem is particularly well suited to rock, blues, alternative, classic rock and modern guitar players who want dual-humbucker tones with the added versatility of a tremolo bridge.
It is also a strong option for players who like the feel and sustain of a single-cutaway guitar but do not want to give up expressive tremolo techniques.
PLAYING STYLES & APPLICATIONS
The SE Singlecut Trem works especially well for classic rock, blues, hard rock, alternative, indie and general-purpose live or studio playing.
The neck pickup suits warmer lead tones and cleaner rhythm parts, while the bridge pickup provides more attack for overdrive, distortion and lead work.
The tremolo also makes it suitable for more atmospheric or expressive styles where subtle pitch movement is useful.
HOW IT COMPARES
SE Singlecut Trem vs SE Singlecut Stoptail
The main difference is the bridge system. The Trem version adds expressive pitch control, while the stoptail model offers a simpler fixed-bridge setup.
SE Singlecut Trem vs SE 245
The later SE 245 uses a shorter 24.5" scale and stoptail-style bridge, while the SE Singlecut Trem uses a 25" scale and tremolo.
PRS SE vs USA PRS
USA-made PRS guitars generally use more premium materials, hardware and electronics, while SE models focus on delivering the core PRS design and playing experience at a more accessible price point.

FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★
Best suited for: Players who want the sustain and feel of a PRS single-cutaway guitar with the added flexibility of a tremolo bridge.
Customers usually upgrade from: Entry-level dual-humbucker guitars, Epiphone Les Paul models and more basic PRS SE instruments.
Most commonly paired with: Valve amplifiers, overdrive, distortion, delay and reverb pedals.
Our tip: The 25" scale is one of the reasons PRS guitars feel distinctive. It gives a little more tension and definition than a shorter Gibson-style scale while still feeling softer than a typical 25.5" guitar.
Showroom feedback: Early Korean SE models have developed a strong following, and the Singlecut Trem is particularly interesting because it combines the familiar single-cut design with PRS tremolo versatility.
