Why Choose The 2015 Gibson ES-335 ’63 Reissue Vintage Burst?
Classic 1963 ES-335 Inspiration
The ’63-style ES-335 format is loved for its combination of semi-hollow warmth, centre-block sustain and elegant vintage appointments. Small block inlays, a comfortable 1960s-style feel and the unmistakable ES body shape make this a highly desirable Gibson design.
Semi-Hollow Versatility
The ES-335 is one of the most versatile electric guitars ever made. It can be warm and smooth for jazz, open and expressive for blues, articulate for soul, bright enough for indie, and powerful enough for rock.
Vintage Burst Finish
The Vintage Burst finish gives this guitar a timeless Gibson look, highlighting the ES-335 body shape beautifully. It has the kind of understated vintage appeal that suits stage, studio and long-term collection use.
Dual Humbucker Tone
The dual humbucker layout provides fullness, sustain and dynamic response. The bridge pickup delivers bite and focus, the neck pickup offers warmth and smoothness, and the middle position gives a balanced semi-hollow rhythm tone.
Maple Centre Block Construction
The maple centre block helps control feedback while improving sustain and attack. This is what makes the ES-335 so practical compared with a fully hollow electric guitar, especially when used with overdrive or higher stage volume.
Excellent Used Condition
This example is listed in Excellent condition, making it a strong choice for players who want a clean pre-owned Gibson ES-335 rather than a heavily worn vintage-style instrument.
Gibson Hardcase Included
The included Gibson hardcase provides proper protection for storage, transport, rehearsals and gigs.
Comparison Against Popular Alternatives
Gibson ES-335 ’63 Reissue vs Standard Gibson ES-335
A standard ES-335 offers the classic semi-hollow formula in a current production format. The ’63 Reissue is aimed more at players who want vintage-inspired appointments, 1960s-style character and period-influenced feel.
Gibson ES-335 ’63 Reissue vs Gibson ES-345
An ES-345 usually adds extra cosmetic appointments and, depending on period or model, different wiring options. The ES-335 is more straightforward and direct, making it the better choice for players who want the essential semi-hollow Gibson experience.
Gibson ES-335 ’63 Reissue vs Gibson Les Paul Standard
A Les Paul Standard gives a thicker solidbody sound with stronger focus and sustain. The ES-335 is airier, more open and more responsive acoustically, making it excellent for blues, jazz, soul and expressive clean-to-drive playing.
Gibson ES-335 ’63 Reissue vs Epiphone Inspired By Gibson ES-335
An Epiphone ES-335 offers excellent value and accessible semi-hollow tone. This Gibson ES-335 ’63 Reissue offers USA-made build quality, higher-end materials, stronger used-market appeal and a more premium vintage-inspired specification.
Who Is It For?
Blues Players
The ES-335 is a legendary blues guitar thanks to its warm neck pickup, vocal sustain and responsive semi-hollow body.
Jazz And Soul Guitarists
The smooth neck pickup tone and open body resonance make it excellent for clean jazz chords, soul rhythm parts and expressive melodic playing.
Rock And Indie Players
The centre-block design lets the ES-335 handle overdrive, fuzz and stage volume more confidently than a fully hollow guitar.
Studio Musicians
Few guitars record as easily as an ES-335. It can cover warm rhythm parts, articulate leads, textured clean sounds and driven tones without sounding harsh or muddy.
Gibson Collectors And Long-Term Owners
A 2015 ’63 Reissue has strong appeal for players who want a high-quality Gibson semi-hollow with vintage-inspired details and long-term desirability.

Why Choose A Gibson ES-335?
The Gibson ES-335 is one of the most important electric guitar designs ever created because it sits perfectly between a solidbody and a hollowbody. It has the warmth and acoustic depth of a semi-hollow guitar, but the centre block gives it more sustain, focus and feedback resistance than a fully hollow instrument.
This makes the ES-335 incredibly practical. It can sound smooth and refined through a clean amp, bold and vocal with blues overdrive, and surprisingly powerful through classic rock gain settings.
A ’63-style Reissue adds vintage-inspired appeal, with the look and feel associated with early block-inlay ES-335 models. For players who want one premium Gibson capable of covering a huge range of music, this is a very strong choice.

Story & Context: Gibson ES-335 ’63 Reissue
The ES-335 has been a cornerstone of Gibson’s electric guitar range since the late 1950s. Its semi-hollow construction, double-cutaway body and centre block design created a guitar that could handle expressive clean tones, warm jazz voicings, blues sustain and rock drive with equal confidence.
The 1963-style ES-335 is especially appealing because it represents the early block-inlay era. This period is associated with elegant visual appointments, comfortable neck feel and the classic semi-hollow voice heard across decades of blues, rock, jazz and soul recordings.
This 2015 Vintage Burst example, supplied in Excellent condition with a Gibson hardcase, is a superb used Gibson for players who want vintage-inspired ES-335 tone without stepping into true 1960s vintage pricing.
