Deering Sierra Deluxe Mahogany banjo, (Used)
The Deering Sierra Deluxe Mahogany banjo is built with a resonator and neck of select mahogany, finished in a natural satin that accentuates the wood’s character. The ebony fingerboard is inlaid with Deering’s ornate engraved pearl design, paired with nickel-silver frets across a slender, comfortable neck profile. A two-way adjustable truss rod ensures long-term stability, while planetary tuners and a geared fifth-string tuner provide reliable functionality.
The pot assembly features a three-ply violin-grade maple rim combined with Deering’s -06- bell bronze tone ring, designed for clarity and projection. A notched brass tension hoop, one-piece cast zinc flange, and 24 round hooks with hex nuts secure the frosted top medium-crown head. These components, together with the True Tone tailpiece and polished armrest, create a responsive and durable foundation for the instrument.
The resonator, crafted from matching mahogany and trimmed with white binding, enhances the banjo’s resonance and sustain while maintaining a traditional look. Its tonal character reflects the natural warmth of mahogany, delivering a focused and articulate sound suited to a range of musical settings.
