Why Choose The Jackson X Series RRB IV Rhoads Bass?

Iconic Rhoads Body Shape

The unmistakable Rhoads silhouette has become one of the defining shapes of heavy music. It offers exceptional upper fret access, striking visual appeal and a commanding stage presence unlike any traditional bass design.

EMG® 35DC Active Humbucking Pickup

The renowned EMG® 35DC delivers powerful output, tight low frequencies and outstanding note definition. Its active design ensures your bass remains punchy and articulate even in heavily distorted band mixes.

Neck-Through Construction

The three-piece maple neck extends through the body for increased sustain, improved resonance and effortless upper fret access, making it ideal for technical playing styles and demanding live performances.

Compound Radius Fingerboard

The 12"-16" compound radius amaranth fingerboard provides comfortable playing for lower-register grooves while allowing fast movement and expressive playing higher up the neck.

Built for Stability

Graphite reinforcement rods increase neck strength and minimise movement caused by changing temperatures or humidity, helping maintain consistent setup and tuning stability.

Stage-Ready Hardware

A Jackson® hardtail bridge and sealed die-cast tuners provide dependable tuning stability, excellent sustain and reliable performance whether you're rehearsing, touring or recording.

Why Choose an Active Bass Guitar?

Active bass guitars use an onboard preamp to deliver increased output, greater headroom and enhanced tonal consistency.

For metal and hard rock players, active pickups such as the EMG® 35DC provide tighter bass response, improved note definition and outstanding clarity under high-gain conditions. This helps every note remain focused and articulate, even when competing with heavily distorted guitars and powerful drums.

If you need maximum punch, consistency and authority, an active bass is an excellent choice.

Why Do Metal Bassists Choose EMG® Active Pickups?

EMG® pickups have become a benchmark for professional metal bass players because they deliver exceptional clarity, high output and minimal unwanted noise.

Unlike many passive pickups, the EMG® 35DC maintains excellent note definition during fast picking, low tunings and heavily distorted performances. The result is a bass tone that remains powerful, focused and easy to hear within dense modern mixes.

For players who demand precision and consistency, EMG active pickups remain one of the industry's most respected choices.
