Built around a mahogany body and set mahogany neck, the G-400 Deluxe PRO retains the warm, resonant character associated with the SG platform while adding the visual depth of a figured maple top.
A pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers provides a broad range of classic humbucker tones, while push/pull coil-splitting on the Volume controls adds brighter, leaner single-coil-style sounds.
This Pre-Owned example is finished in Trans Red, is in Very Good condition, weighs an actual 6.38 lbs, and is supplied without a case.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
The G-400 Deluxe PRO takes the familiar SG formula and adds a more premium visual and electronic specification.
The flame maple veneer and Trans Red finish give it considerably more depth than a standard solid-colour G-400, while the gold hardware completes the more upmarket appearance.
The Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers deliver the thick, warm tones expected from an SG-style guitar, while the coil-splits make the instrument noticeably more versatile.
DETAILED FEATURES & BENEFITS
Classic SG-Style Body
The G-400 Deluxe PRO uses the familiar lightweight double-cutaway shape associated with classic SG-style guitars.
Its deep cutaways provide excellent access to the upper frets.
Mahogany Body
The mahogany body provides warmth, sustain and strong midrange response.
This forms the tonal foundation of the guitar.
AAA Flame Maple Veneer
The AAA flame maple veneer adds visual depth and gives the Trans Red finish a more premium appearance.
The figuring becomes particularly noticeable under changing light.
Trans Red Finish
The Trans Red finish allows the flame figuring to remain visible while retaining the traditional red aesthetic associated with SG-style guitars.
Set Mahogany Neck
The mahogany neck is glued into the body using traditional set-neck construction.
This provides a smooth body-to-neck transition and contributes to the guitar’s sustained feel.
1960s SlimTaper D Profile
The 1960s SlimTaper D-profile gives the neck a fast, comfortable feel.
It is well suited to both rhythm and lead playing.
Pau Ferro Fingerboard
The pau ferro fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface and is decorated with classic trapezoid inlays.
12" Fingerboard Radius
The 12" radius gives a relatively flat playing surface that works well for string bending and faster lead playing.
24.75" Scale Length
The traditional Gibson/Epiphone 24.75" scale length gives the strings a slightly softer feel than a 25.5" design.
22 Medium-Jumbo Frets
The guitar uses 22 medium-jumbo frets, providing a comfortable and familiar playing surface.
Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers
The guitar is fitted with a pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers.
These provide warm, full-bodied tones with enough clarity for both clean and overdriven playing.
Neck Pickup
The neck humbucker delivers the rounder and smoother voice of the two pickups.
It works particularly well for blues, classic rock and clean chord work.
Bridge Pickup
The bridge pickup provides more attack and midrange focus, making it ideal for overdrive and lead playing.
Push/Pull Coil-Splitting
Both Volume controls feature push/pull coil-splitting.
This allows either humbucker to be reduced to a brighter single-coil-style sound, greatly increasing the tonal range.
Traditional Four-Control Layout
The guitar uses separate Volume and Tone controls for each pickup.
This provides plenty of control over the balance between the neck and bridge sounds.
LockTone Bridge & Stopbar
The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece provide straightforward intonation adjustment and stable string anchoring.
Wilkinson Vintage Classic Tuners
The guitar is fitted with Wilkinson Vintage Classic 18:1 tuners for smooth and accurate tuning.
Gold Hardware
Gold hardware gives the Deluxe PRO a more premium look and complements the Trans Red flame top particularly well.
6.38 lbs Actual Weight
This individual guitar weighs 6.38 lbs, making it especially manageable for rehearsals, gigs and longer playing sessions.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Epiphone G-400 Deluxe PRO is particularly well suited to rock, classic rock, blues, alternative, indie and players who want SG-style feel with greater tonal flexibility.
It is also an excellent option for players who like the look of a premium figured-top guitar but want something lighter and more affordable than many carved-top single-cut models.

HOW IT COMPARES
Deluxe PRO vs Standard G-400
A standard G-400 usually has a simpler cosmetic specification.
The Deluxe PRO adds a AAA flame maple veneer, gold hardware and push/pull coil-splitting.
Humbucker vs Coil-Split
In full humbucker mode, the pickups sound thicker and warmer.
With the coils split, the tone becomes brighter, leaner and more open.
SG-Style vs Les Paul-Style
An SG-style guitar generally feels lighter and provides easier upper-fret access.
A Les Paul-style guitar usually feels heavier and has a thicker body.

FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★
Best suited for: Players wanting classic SG-style performance with a more premium appearance and greater tonal flexibility than a basic dual-humbucker setup.
Customers usually upgrade from: Entry-level SG-style guitars, standard G-400 models and basic dual-humbucker electrics.
Most commonly paired with: Valve amplifiers, overdrive, boost, distortion, delay and reverb.
Our tip: Use the full humbucker mode for the core rock tones, then pull the Volume controls to split the coils when you need extra clarity or a brighter rhythm sound.
Showroom feedback: The combination of the flame maple veneer, Trans Red finish and gold hardware gives the Deluxe PRO a much more expensive appearance than a standard G-400, while the low 6.38 lbs weight keeps it very comfortable.
