Description
Quick Product Summary
The Gretsch Jim Dandy Parlor in Rex Burst is a compact acoustic guitar inspired by the character and styling of Gretsch's historic flat-top instruments. Its petite parlor body and short 24-inch scale make it comfortable, portable and full of old-school personality.
An X-braced laminated basswood body provides a clear, woody voice with plenty of midrange presence, while the C-shaped nato neck and walnut fingerboard offer an approachable playing feel for beginners and experienced players alike.
What Makes the Gretsch Jim Dandy Parlor Special?
Inspired by the historic Gretsch "Rex" instruments sold through mail-order catalogues during the 1930s, '40s and '50s, the Jim Dandy captures a distinctly vintage aesthetic without sacrificing everyday playability. Details including the Rex Burst finish, aged white binding, white "G" graphic pickguard and open-gear tuning machines give it unmistakable retro charm.
Its compact body and 24-inch scale make the guitar easy to hold and responsive under the fingers. The naturally focused voice of the parlor design is especially well suited to blues, folk, fingerpicking, songwriting and relaxed acoustic playing.
Who Is It For?
The Jim Dandy Parlor is an excellent choice for players who prefer a smaller acoustic guitar or want something more portable than a conventional dreadnought.
Its short scale and manageable proportions also make it particularly appealing to beginners, travelling musicians, singer-songwriters and experienced guitarists looking for a characterful acoustic for home, studio or casual performance use.
