Powerful, Practical Sound for Live Performance

The Mackie Thrash12v2 brings together high-output amplification, straightforward controls and practical sound-management features in a rugged portable enclosure.

Its 1300W peak amplification system is divided between a 1000W peak low-frequency amplifier and a 300W peak high-frequency amplifier. This drives a 12-inch woofer and 1-inch compression driver, producing a balanced full-range sound suitable for vocals, instruments, backing tracks and recorded music.

With a maximum peak SPL of 129dB and wide 90° horizontal by 60° vertical coverage, the Thrash12v2 can project sound clearly across rehearsal rooms, performance spaces and small-to-medium venues.

Why Choose the Mackie Thrash12v2?

The Thrash12v2 is designed for users who need dependable volume without having to operate a complicated PA system.

Key advantages include:

  • Powerful 1300W peak Class-D amplification

  • 12-inch woofer for punchy, controlled low frequencies

  • 1-inch compression driver for clear high-frequency projection

  • Four application-specific voicing modes

  • One-button Feedback Eliminator

  • Bluetooth 5.0 wireless audio streaming

  • Wireless linking for two compatible speakers

  • Combined microphone and line-level input

  • Balanced XLR mix output

  • Built-in overload, thermal and transducer protection

  • Rugged enclosure with protective grille and carry handles

  • Floor, pole and wedge-monitor positioning

Four Selectable Voicing Modes

The Thrash12v2 includes four voicing modes that adjust the speaker’s response for different applications.

Flat Mode

Flat mode provides a neutral and balanced response with minimal tonal shaping. It is ideal when you want the speaker to reproduce your source signal as naturally as possible.

DJ Mode

DJ mode adds extra low-frequency impact and high-frequency presence. It is suited to recorded music, parties, mobile DJs and applications where a more energetic presentation is required.

Live Mode

Live mode focuses the speaker’s response around the vocal range, helping singers, presenters and spoken-word performers project clearly.

Wedge Mode

Wedge mode emphasises the midrange when the Thrash12v2 is positioned horizontally as a floor monitor. The cabinet provides a fixed 45-degree monitor angle for convenient stage positioning.

Built-In Feedback Eliminator

Microphone feedback can quickly interrupt a performance, rehearsal or presentation. The Thrash12v2 includes a switchable Feedback Eliminator that monitors the audio signal and suppresses problematic feedback frequencies.

The system is activated directly from the rear control panel, giving performers and presenters a practical layer of protection without requiring an external feedback processor.

Bluetooth Streaming and Wireless Speaker Linking

Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity allows music and backing tracks to be streamed wirelessly from a compatible smartphone, tablet or computer.

Two compatible Thrash12v2 loudspeakers can also be linked wirelessly, allowing the streamed Bluetooth signal to be played through both speakers in either stereo or dual-mono operation.

The physical mic/line input remains available while Bluetooth audio is being streamed. This makes it possible to connect a microphone or instrument while playing backing tracks wirelessly.

Simple, Versatile Connectivity

The balanced XLR/TRS combination input accepts microphone and line-level signals, allowing the speaker to be connected to microphones, mixers, instruments and other audio sources.

A balanced male XLR mix output passes the combined input and Bluetooth signal to another loudspeaker, recorder or additional part of the PA system.

Rear-panel controls and indicators provide access to:

  • Input gain

  • Speaker volume

  • Mic or line-level selection

  • Four voicing modes

  • Feedback Eliminator

  • Bluetooth pairing and speaker linking

  • Signal and overload monitoring

  • Limiter status

  • XLR mix output

A USB connection is also provided for firmware updates only.

Rugged and Portable Design

The Thrash12v2 is housed in a durable enclosure designed for regular transport, rehearsals and live performances. A protective front grille helps shield the drivers, while integrated carry handles make the speaker easier to move between locations.

At 13.9kg, the speaker remains manageable for mobile performers and small PA operators while still delivering substantial output.

The cabinet can be:

  • Positioned vertically on the floor

  • Mounted on a compatible speaker stand

  • Mounted above a compatible subwoofer

  • Positioned horizontally as a 45-degree stage monitor

Speaker stands, mounting poles, subwoofers and protective bags are available separately.

Who Is the Mackie Thrash12v2 For?

The Thrash12v2 is particularly well suited to:

  • Singers and solo performers

  • Guitarists and keyboard players

  • Live bands

  • Mobile DJs

  • Rehearsal studios

  • Small venues

  • Schools and community organisations

  • Fitness instructors

  • Public speakers and presenters

  • Houses of worship

  • Portable PA operators

  • Musicians using backing tracks

  • Performers requiring a powered stage monitor

Why Choose a 12-Inch Powered Loudspeaker?

A 12-inch powered loudspeaker offers a useful balance between low-frequency performance, vocal clarity and portability.

Compared with a larger 15-inch cabinet, a 12-inch speaker is generally easier to transport and position while still providing enough low-end response for vocals, instruments and general music playback. It is therefore a strong choice for performers who need a versatile main PA speaker that can also work as a stage monitor.

For applications requiring deeper bass at higher volumes, the Thrash12v2 can be used with a compatible powered subwoofer.

Mackie Thrash12v2 or a Larger 15-Inch Speaker?

Choose the Thrash12v2 when portability, vocal clarity and flexible monitor use are priorities. Its 12-inch cabinet is easier to transport and position than a larger loudspeaker while still producing a maximum peak output of 129dB.

A 15-inch powered speaker may be preferable when deeper standalone bass response is the main priority. Alternatively, the Thrash12v2 can be combined with a powered subwoofer to create a more powerful full-range system for DJs, electronic music and larger performances.
