Martin D-28 Acoustic Guitar, (Used)

The Martin D-28 is a full-size dreadnought acoustic guitar and one of the most recognisable models in Martin’s lineup. It features a solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, built using Martin’s traditional dovetail neck joint construction. The guitar uses a 25.4-inch scale length, a 1 3/4-inch nut width, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge, with a non-cutaway dreadnought body designed for strong projection and extended low-frequency response.

The construction includes forward-shifted X-bracing with scalloped spruce braces, gloss nitrocellulose-style finishing, antique white binding, and open-gear nickel tuners. The dreadnought body dimensions produce a high internal air volume and broad dynamic range, making the D-28 closely associated with flatpicking, bluegrass, folk, and singer-songwriter styles. The neck uses Martin’s Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance taper geometry.

The D-28 is built as a fully acoustic instrument with no onboard electronics in its standard specification. The model originated in the 1930s and became one of Martin’s most historically significant designs, widely associated with professional acoustic performance and recording use across multiple genres.
