Rickenbacker 1993Plus 12-String in Fireglo Electric Guitar, (Used)
The Rickenbacker 1993Plus 12-String in Fireglo is a semi-hollow electric guitar based on the original Rose Morris export-model 1993 used during the British Invasion era. It features a maple semi-acoustic body with an F-hole, double body binding, and a set maple neck with a Caribbean rosewood fingerboard. The guitar uses a 24.75-inch scale length, 21 frets, triangle pearlescent inlays, and a wider 1 3/4-inch nut width introduced at the request of Pete Townshend for improved 12-string playability.
The hardware includes a trapeze tailpiece, 6-way split saddle bridge, deluxe vintage-style tuning machines, and Rickenbacker’s two-piece neck construction with a rounded heel for improved comfort and structural stability. The semi-hollow maple construction uses internal X-bracing to increase rigidity and enhance resonance while preserving the characteristic chime and harmonic spread associated with Rickenbacker 12-string instruments. The Fireglo finish uses Rickenbacker’s signature red sunburst shading over natural maple grain.
The electronics consist of three vintage reissue Toaster Top single-coil pickups wired through mono and Rick-O-Sound stereo outputs. The control system includes dual volume controls, dual tone controls, a three-way selector switch, and Rickenbacker’s blend control for balancing the middle and bridge pickup interaction. The triple-pickup layout and stereo-capable wiring produce the bright, layered harmonic response strongly associated with 1960s jangly electric 12-string recordings.
