Roland V-STAGE 76 Stage Keyboard
Description
Quick Product Summary
The Roland V-STAGE 76 is a professional performance keyboard designed for players who need premium piano, electric piano, organ and synthesizer sounds in one streamlined stage instrument. Four independent sound engines combine Roland's V-Piano, SuperNATURAL, Virtual Tone Wheel and ZEN-Core technologies, giving working musicians a huge tonal palette with immediate hands-on control.
A newly developed 76-note semi-weighted waterfall keyboard with channel aftertouch makes the V-STAGE 76 particularly well suited to organ techniques, synth performance and fast live playing. At just 15.2 kg, it also offers a highly practical balance of professional capability, extended keyboard range and portability for gigging musicians.
What Makes the Roland V-STAGE 76 Special?
The V-STAGE 76 combines four dedicated sound engines within a performance-focused interface. V-Piano technology powers the acoustic piano section, the latest SuperNATURAL developments provide expressive electric pianos, Virtual Tone Wheel modeling delivers authentic organ behaviour, and the ZEN-Core engine supplies more than 400 synthesizer sounds with further expansion possibilities.
Its 76-note waterfall-style keyboard is a major part of its appeal. The semi-weighted action provides a faster response than a traditional hammer-action stage piano, while smooth waterfall key fronts suit classic organ techniques such as glissandos and rakes. Channel aftertouch adds another expressive dimension for synthesizer sounds and performance control.
Who Is It For?
The Roland V-STAGE 76 is ideal for professional keyboard players, organists, synth players, touring musicians, theatre performers, session players and multi-keyboard performers who need a highly flexible instrument that remains manageable to transport.
Players who favour organ, synth and electric piano sounds may particularly appreciate its semi-weighted waterfall action, while the extended 76-note range provides more room for splits and layered performances than a conventional 61-note keyboard.

FAQs
Is the Roland V-STAGE 76 designed for professional use?
Yes. The V-STAGE 76 is a professional performance keyboard with dedicated sound engines, extensive physical controls, balanced outputs, Scene memories and comprehensive MIDI, USB and pedal connectivity.
What type of keyboard action does the V-STAGE 76 have?
The V-STAGE 76 features a 76-note semi-weighted waterfall keyboard. It offers a faster and lighter response than a hammer-action piano keyboard and is particularly well suited to organ, synthesizer and electric piano performance.
Does the V-STAGE 76 have aftertouch?
Yes. The V-STAGE 76 supports channel aftertouch, allowing additional expression to be introduced by applying pressure to the keyboard after notes have been played.
What is a waterfall keyboard?
A waterfall keyboard has smooth, squared-off key fronts rather than the protruding lip found on many piano-style keys. This design is particularly useful for organ techniques such as glissandos and palm slides.
What are the four main sound engines?
The V-STAGE 76 has dedicated Acoustic Piano, Electric Piano, Organ and ZEN-Core Synthesizer sections, each using Roland technologies specifically suited to that type of sound.
Does the V-STAGE 76 use V-Piano technology?
Yes. The dedicated acoustic piano engine uses Roland's V-Piano modeling technology and includes concert grand, upright and felt piano models.
Is the V-STAGE 76 suitable for organ playing?
Yes. The combination of a waterfall keyboard, physical drawbars, Virtual Tone Wheel technology and dedicated rotary and overdrive effects makes organ performance one of the V-STAGE 76's major strengths.
Does the V-STAGE 76 include synthesizer sounds?
Yes. Its ZEN-Core Synthesizer section provides more than 400 onboard sounds and can be expanded with compatible Roland Cloud content.
Can sounds be split and layered?
Yes. The independent sound sections can be combined to create sophisticated splits and layers, with complete configurations stored within Scenes.
How many Scenes are available?
The V-STAGE 76 provides 512 Scenes, including pre-loaded registrations, allowing complete performance setups to be saved for quick recall.
What are Scene Chains?
Scene Chains allow Scenes to be placed into an ordered sequence, making it much easier to organise sounds according to a live setlist.
Does the V-STAGE 76 have balanced outputs?
Yes. It features balanced XLR Main Outputs, balanced 1/4-inch Main Outputs and two balanced 1/4-inch Sub Outputs for professional stage and studio routing.
Can I connect a microphone directly to the V-STAGE 76?
Yes. A dedicated XLR microphone input is included, along with level control, reverb, multi-effects and vocoder functionality.
Can the V-STAGE 76 connect directly to a computer?
Yes. Its USB-C connection supports class-compliant USB audio and MIDI for integration with compatible computers and mobile devices.
Can I control external MIDI equipment?
Yes. MIDI IN, two MIDI OUT connections including OUT 2/THRU, USB MIDI and support for compatible external Roland controllers make the V-STAGE 76 suitable for controlling a larger performance rig.
Does the V-STAGE 76 have built-in speakers?
No. The V-STAGE 76 is a professional stage keyboard designed for connection to headphones, a keyboard amplifier, PA system, studio monitors or another suitable external sound system.
Is a sustain pedal included?
No. Sustain, expression and other control pedals are available separately, allowing the pedal configuration to be tailored to the player's requirements.
What is the main difference between the V-STAGE 76 and V-STAGE 88?
The biggest difference is the keyboard. The V-STAGE 76 uses a 76-note semi-weighted waterfall action with channel aftertouch, making it especially suited to organ and synth performance. The V-STAGE 88 uses an 88-note weighted hammer-action keyboard and is more piano-focused. The V-STAGE 76 is also significantly lighter and more compact.
