WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

The C-6 Pro FR combines several features normally associated with more expensive performance-focused guitars into a straightforward and highly playable package. The slim neck, flat 14" fingerboard radius and X-Jumbo frets make fast runs, bends and wide vibrato comfortable, while the locking Floyd Rose system provides the freedom to use dramatic pitch effects without relying on a conventional non-locking tremolo.

Its two Schecter Diamond Decimator humbuckers are designed for strong output and definition, making the guitar especially effective for rock and heavier styles. The push-pull coil-split function adds extra versatility by introducing brighter, leaner sounds alongside the full humbucker tones.

DETAILED FEATURES & BENEFITS

Mahogany Body with Burl Top

The C-6 Pro FR uses a mahogany body topped with visually distinctive burl, combining a substantial solid-body construction with one of the guitar's most recognisable visual features. The Aqua Burst finish highlights the irregular figuring of the top and gives the guitar a bold modern appearance.

Ultra Thin Maple Neck

A three-piece maple neck with carbon-fibre reinforcement provides a rigid foundation while maintaining the fast feel expected from a modern Schecter. The Ultra Thin "C" profile measures approximately 19mm at the first fret and 20mm at the twelfth, making it especially comfortable for faster lead work and extended playing sessions.

Wenge Fingerboard

The wenge fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface and a darker visual contrast against the maple neck and Aqua Burst body. Its 14" radius is flatter than many traditional electric guitars, helping bends and faster fretting feel controlled across the full neck.

24 X-Jumbo Frets

Twenty-four X-Jumbo frets provide a full two-octave range on every string and give the player plenty of fret height for wide bends, vibrato and technical playing. This makes the C-6 Pro FR particularly suitable for modern rock, metal and progressive styles.

Diamond Decimator Humbuckers

Schecter's Diamond Decimator humbuckers provide the C-6 Pro FR with a powerful dual-humbucker voice. The bridge position is particularly suited to tight rhythm work and aggressive lead tones, while the neck pickup provides a fuller, smoother sound for solos and cleaner passages.

Push-Pull Coil Split

The Volume control incorporates a push-pull function that splits the humbuckers for a brighter and more focused response. This expands the guitar beyond conventional high-output humbucker sounds and provides additional options for cleaner parts, layered recordings and lighter styles.

Floyd Rose Special Hot Rod Tremolo

The Schecter-exclusive Floyd Rose Special Hot Rod locking tremolo allows extensive upward and downward pitch movement while the locking nut helps maintain tuning stability during more aggressive tremolo use. It is particularly useful for dive bombs, harmonic effects and expressive lead techniques.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Schecter C-6 Pro FR is ideally suited to rock, metal, progressive and technically focused players who want a fast-playing guitar with a locking tremolo and versatile dual-humbucker electronics.

It is also a strong option for intermediate players moving from a simpler fixed-bridge or entry-level guitar into something with a more performance-oriented neck, 24-fret layout and Floyd Rose system.

Players who regularly use alternate tunings may prefer a fixed-bridge model for faster tuning changes, but for anyone who values tremolo expression and tuning stability once set up, the C-6 Pro FR makes a compelling choice.

PLAYING STYLES & APPLICATIONS

The combination of high-output humbuckers, 24 frets and a locking tremolo makes the C-6 Pro FR particularly well suited to metal, hard rock, progressive metal, shred, alternative rock and heavier modern styles.

The bridge humbucker delivers the attack and definition required for palm-muted rhythm work, while the neck pickup works well for fluid lead lines and fuller clean tones. Coil splitting increases its usefulness for cleaner rhythm parts, ambient sounds and lighter passages where full humbuckers may feel too thick.

HOW IT COMPARES

Schecter C-6 Pro FR vs C-6 Pro Hardtail

The hardtail C-6 Pro offers simpler maintenance and faster string or tuning changes, making it attractive to players who regularly use different tunings. The FR version adds the Floyd Rose locking tremolo, giving considerably more pitch-control flexibility for expressive lead techniques.

Schecter C-6 Pro FR vs Traditional Strat-Style Guitar

A traditional Strat-style guitar generally offers lower-output single-coil tones and a more vintage-oriented neck feel. The C-6 Pro FR is designed around a more modern playing experience, with a flatter radius, larger frets, dual humbuckers and a locking tremolo.

Schecter C-6 Pro FR vs Entry-Level Metal Guitar

Compared with more basic metal-oriented guitars, the C-6 Pro FR adds a reinforced three-piece neck, wenge fingerboard, coil-splittable pickups and a Schecter-exclusive Floyd Rose system, giving it greater tonal and technical flexibility for developing players.

FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★

Best suited for: Rock and metal players wanting a fast neck, dual humbuckers, 24 frets and a Floyd Rose locking tremolo.

Customers usually upgrade from: Entry-level Schecter, Ibanez, Jackson and other modern rock-oriented electric guitars.

Most commonly paired with: High-gain valve or modelling amplifiers, distortion and overdrive pedals, noise gates, delay and modulation effects.

Our tip: A Floyd Rose works best when the guitar is set up around a consistent tuning and string gauge. Once properly balanced, the double-locking system provides excellent tuning stability for aggressive tremolo techniques.

Showroom feedback: The combination of the Aqua Burst burl top, slim neck and Floyd Rose gives the C-6 Pro FR a strong modern identity while still offering enough tonal flexibility to move beyond purely heavy styles.
