Schecter PT Standard Black Electric Guitar, (Used, Comm)
Pairs well with
Description
The Schecter PT Standard in Black is a muscular T-style electric guitar that combines classic single-cut styling with a much more powerful dual-humbucker setup and modern Schecter playability.
Built with an alder body, bolt-on maple neck and maple fingerboard, the PT Standard keeps the familiar snap and immediacy associated with traditional T-style guitars while adding a pair of powerful SuperRock-style humbuckers for a thicker, more aggressive response.
This particular example has also been fitted with an added phase switch, expanding the available tonal range with a thinner, more hollow out-of-phase sound when engaged in the relevant pickup combination.
This Pre-Owned example is in Good condition, weighs an actual 8.2 lbs, and is supplied without a case.

PRE-OWNED CONDITION REPORT
This is a Pre-Owned Schecter PT Standard in Good condition.
The Good condition grade reflects an instrument with noticeable signs of previous use while remaining fully functional and ready to play.
This example has been modified with an added phase switch. This is not part of the original factory specification and should be considered an aftermarket modification.
This individual guitar weighs 8.2 lbs.
No case is included.
ADDED PHASE SWITCH
This guitar has been fitted with an additional phase switch.
When used with both pickups selected, an out-of-phase setting can produce a noticeably thinner, sharper and more hollow sound than the conventional in-phase pickup combination.
This can be especially useful for funkier rhythm parts, cutting clean tones, layered studio work and unusual lead sounds.
The phase switch is an aftermarket modification rather than part of the standard PT factory specification.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
The PT Standard gives you familiar T-style ergonomics without restricting the guitar to traditional Telecaster tones.
The dual humbuckers provide substantially more output, thickness and midrange than a typical single-coil T-style guitar, making it equally comfortable with overdrive and heavier gain.
The added phase switch makes this individual example even more flexible by adding a distinctive filtered pickup sound that is not available on the standard factory model.
DETAILED FEATURES & BENEFITS
Classic PT Body Shape
The PT uses Schecter’s interpretation of the classic T-style single-cutaway body.
It offers familiar ergonomics while retaining Schecter’s more modern visual identity.
Alder Body
The alder body provides a balanced tonal foundation with clear mids and plenty of attack.
This works particularly well with the powerful humbucker pickup set.
Black Finish
The gloss Black finish gives the guitar a clean, understated appearance and works especially well with the black hardware.
Bolt-On Maple Neck
The bolt-on maple neck contributes to the direct attack and immediate feel associated with this style of guitar.
Thin “C” Profile
Schecter’s Thin “C” profile gives the neck a fast and comfortable feel.
It is well suited to players who prefer a slimmer modern neck rather than a chunky vintage profile.
Maple Fingerboard
The maple fingerboard adds visual brightness and contributes to the guitar’s crisp, immediate playing feel.
25.5" Scale Length
The traditional 25.5" scale length provides good string tension, clear articulation and strong definition.
22 X-Jumbo Frets
The guitar uses 22 X-Jumbo frets, making bends and lead work feel easy under the fingers.
Dual Humbuckers
The PT Standard uses a pair of high-output humbuckers.
These provide a thicker and more powerful response than traditional Telecaster single coils.
Neck Pickup
The neck humbucker provides the warmer and smoother voice of the two pickups.
It works well for clean rhythm, blues and fuller lead sounds.
Bridge Pickup
The bridge humbucker provides additional attack and output, making it particularly effective for rock and higher-gain sounds.
Coil-Tap Capability
Period PT Standard models are associated with tapped SuperRock-style humbuckers, allowing brighter single-coil-style sounds in addition to the full humbucker response.
Added Phase Switch
The added phase switch gives this particular guitar a further tonal option beyond the standard factory wiring.
It is especially useful when both pickups are selected.
String-Through Bridge
The PT-style hardtail bridge uses a string-through-body arrangement, providing secure anchoring and strong sustain.
8.2 lbs Actual Weight
This individual guitar weighs 8.2 lbs, giving it a solid but manageable feel.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Schecter PT Standard is particularly well suited to rock, hard rock, alternative, indie and modern blues players who like the feel of a T-style guitar but want the additional power of humbuckers.
This modified example should also appeal to players who enjoy non-standard wiring options and more unusual pickup combinations.

HOW IT COMPARES
PT Standard vs Traditional Telecaster
A traditional Telecaster normally uses two single-coil pickups.
The PT Standard uses dual humbuckers, giving it a thicker and more powerful sound.
Humbuckers vs Single Coils
Humbuckers generally provide more output, fuller mids and lower electrical noise.
The PT compensates for some of the lost brightness by offering coil-tap functionality.
Standard PT vs This Modified Example
The standard guitar uses conventional pickup switching.
This example adds a phase switch, giving it an additional hollow and cutting sound when the pickups are combined.

FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★
Best suited for: Players wanting classic T-style ergonomics with substantially more output and tonal flexibility than a conventional Telecaster.
Customers usually upgrade from: Standard T-style guitars, entry-level dual-humbucker electrics and basic Schecter Diamond Series models.
Most commonly paired with: Valve amplifiers, overdrive, distortion, boost, delay and reverb.
Our tip: Use the standard pickup settings for the core tones, then bring in the added phase switch when you want a thinner, more cutting sound that sits differently in a mix.
Showroom feedback: The PT Standard is already a versatile guitar thanks to its humbuckers and coil-tap options. The added phase switch gives this particular example even more range without changing the familiar T-style playing feel.
