Why Choose The Takamine CP3NYK?
Compact New Yorker Body
The CP3NYK uses Takamine’s New Yorker body style, which gives the guitar a compact and comfortable playing feel. It is especially well suited to players who prefer a smaller-bodied acoustic for fingerstyle, couch playing, songwriting or detailed recording work.
Solid Cedar Top
The solid cedar top gives the guitar a warm, responsive and touch-sensitive voice. Cedar is especially popular with fingerstyle players because it responds beautifully to a lighter touch while still offering depth and musical warmth.
Hawaiian Koa Back And Sides
The Hawaiian koa back and sides give the CP3NYK a striking natural look and a balanced tonal character. Koa is known for combining clarity, sweetness and warmth, making it a brilliant match for a compact acoustic body.
Takamine CT-4BII Electronics
The CT-4BII preamp system makes this guitar ready for live performance, recording and amplified acoustic use. With onboard tone control and a built-in tuner, it is practical for stage, rehearsal and studio work.
45mm Nut Width
The 45mm nut width gives players a comfortable amount of space across the fingerboard, making the CP3NYK a strong option for fingerstyle, hybrid picking and more detailed acoustic arrangements.
Satin Natural Finish
The Satin Natural finish gives the guitar an elegant, understated look while allowing the koa and cedar tonewoods to remain the visual focus.
Case Included
The included case adds useful protection for storage, transport, rehearsals and gigs.
Comparison Against Popular Alternatives
Takamine CP3NYK vs Takamine P3NY
The P3NY is another compact New Yorker-style Takamine, while the CP3NYK adds the visual and tonal appeal of Hawaiian koa back and sides. The CP3NYK is the stronger choice for players who want a more distinctive tonewood combination and a premium natural look.
Takamine CP3NYK vs Taylor GS Mini-e Koa
The Taylor GS Mini-e Koa is more travel-focused and compact. The Takamine CP3NYK offers a more professional stage-ready feel, CT-4BII electronics and a New Yorker body designed for refined acoustic performance.
Takamine CP3NYK vs Martin 000-Style Guitar
A Martin 000-style guitar usually offers a larger, more traditional acoustic body. The CP3NYK feels more compact and intimate, making it especially appealing for fingerstyle players and songwriters.
Takamine CP3NYK vs Full-Size Dreadnought Electro-Acoustic
A dreadnought usually provides more low-end power and strumming volume. The CP3NYK is better suited to players who want comfort, definition, touch sensitivity and a more focused acoustic voice.

Educational Section: Why Choose A Compact Cedar And Koa Electro-Acoustic?
A compact electro-acoustic guitar is a great choice for players who want comfort, focus and responsiveness rather than sheer body size. Smaller acoustic bodies can be easier to handle, more comfortable for long sessions and excellent for articulate playing.
The cedar and koa combination gives the Takamine CP3NYK a particularly appealing voice. Cedar responds quickly to a light touch, while koa adds clarity, sweetness and visual beauty. Together, they create a warm and expressive acoustic sound that suits fingerstyle, songwriting and recording.
The CT-4BII electronics add the practical side, making the guitar just as useful on stage as it is at home. For players who want a premium small-bodied acoustic with professional amplified performance, the CP3NYK is an excellent choice.
