Why Choose The Taylor Academy 10e?
Comfortable Dreadnought Design
The Academy 10e gives players the power and projection of a dreadnought body while adding comfort-focused features that make it easier to play for longer sessions.
Solid Torrefied Spruce Top
The solid torrefied spruce top gives the guitar clear projection, articulation and a touch of played-in warmth. It is well suited to strumming, flatpicking, fingerstyle and vocal accompaniment.
Layered Walnut Back And Sides
Layered walnut back and sides give the guitar a balanced voice with clarity, warmth and reliable everyday stability.
Shorter Scale Length
The 24-7/8" scale length gives the guitar a slightly softer feel than a full 25.5" scale acoustic, making chords, bends and fretting hand stretches more comfortable.
Narrower 1-11/16" Nut Width
The 1-11/16" nut width helps make the neck feel approachable, especially for learners, smaller hands or players moving from electric guitar to acoustic.
Beveled Armrest
The built-in beveled armrest makes the Academy 10e more comfortable against the picking arm, reducing the sharp edge feel that some dreadnoughts can have.
Taylor ES-B Electronics
The Taylor ES-B pickup system makes this guitar ready for plugged-in use through an acoustic amp, PA system, DI box or recording interface. The built-in tuner is a practical feature for lessons, practice, rehearsal and stage use.
Lightweight 4.2 lb Feel
At 4.2 lbs, this Academy 10e is easy to handle, comfortable to play and practical for transport.

Story & Context: Taylor Academy Series
The Taylor Academy Series was created to give newer players a more comfortable and rewarding introduction to acoustic guitar, while still offering the build quality and tonal clarity that Taylor is known for.
Rather than stripping the design down to the bare minimum, Taylor added genuinely helpful features such as a beveled armrest, shorter scale length, comfortable neck profile and practical electronics on the “e” models.
The Academy 10e brings those ideas into a dreadnought electro-acoustic format, giving players a bigger acoustic voice with an easier playing feel. This Fair condition example is ideal for someone who wants the Taylor experience at a more affordable used price.
