Detailed Features & Benefits

Powerful 1020W Class-D Amplification

The Yamaha DXS15 MKII is powered by a highly efficient Class-D amplifier delivering 1020W of dynamic output and 800W continuous power. Capable of producing an impressive maximum SPL of 135dB, this advanced amplification system provides exceptional headroom for demanding applications. From hard-hitting kick drums and bass guitars to energetic dance music and electronic performances, the DXS15 MKII delivers the powerful low-frequency impact needed for a professional sound system.

High-Output 15-Inch Woofer

At the heart of the DXS15 MKII is a specially engineered 15-inch woofer featuring a substantial 2.5-inch voice coil. Housed within an acoustically optimised band-pass enclosure, this driver delivers tight, powerful and well-defined bass while minimising unwanted resonance. With a frequency response extending down to 40Hz, the DXS15 MKII provides the depth and physical impact that smaller full-range speakers simply cannot reproduce on their own.

Yamaha D-XSUB Bass Processing

Yamaha's advanced D-XSUB processing allows users to tailor the subwoofer's low-frequency character to suit different musical styles and performance requirements. Three selectable modes provide exceptional versatility: NORMAL delivers a naturally balanced bass response, BOOST adds additional punch and impact, while XTD LF extends the low-frequency response for deeper bass reproduction. This flexibility makes the DXS15 MKII equally comfortable handling live instruments, electronic music and demanding DJ applications.

Cardioid Mode for Controlled Bass Projection

The built-in cardioid mode allows compatible multiple-subwoofer configurations to direct more low-frequency energy towards the audience while reducing unwanted bass behind the speaker system. This is particularly useful for live bands and professional venues where excessive bass on stage can interfere with monitoring and overall sound clarity. By improving control over low-frequency dispersion, cardioid operation helps create a cleaner and more focused listening environment.

Flexible Crossover Integration

With selectable crossover frequencies of 80Hz, 100Hz and 120Hz, the Yamaha DXS15 MKII can be paired with a wide range of professional full-range PA speakers. These settings make it easy to establish an appropriate balance between the subwoofer and main speakers, ensuring smooth transitions between low and mid frequencies. This is especially useful when integrating the DXS15 MKII into an existing PA system or building a new Yamaha sound reinforcement setup.

Professional Band-Pass Cabinet Design

The DXS15 MKII uses a carefully engineered band-pass enclosure designed to maximise low-frequency performance while controlling unwanted vibrations and distortion. Its rugged plywood construction provides excellent durability, while the hard-wearing black polyurea coating offers additional protection against the knocks and scrapes associated with professional use. The result is a robust subwoofer designed for regular live performances, venue installations and mobile applications.

Convenient Connectivity & Setup

Featuring dual balanced XLR inputs and two XLR outputs, the DXS15 MKII integrates easily with professional mixers, powered speakers and PA systems. The selectable THRU and high-pass-filtered output options provide additional flexibility when connecting full-range speakers. A dual-format pole socket accommodates both standard 35mm speaker poles and threaded M20 poles, allowing suitable satellite speakers to be securely mounted above the subwoofer.

Built for Live Performance & Professional Venues

Combining powerful output, durable construction and practical controls, the DXS15 MKII is well suited to the demands of regular professional use. Its integrated carrying handles assist with positioning and transport, while compatibility with Yamaha's optional protective cover and wheel kit provides further convenience for mobile sound engineers and entertainers.
