Yamaha PAC311H Pacifica Vintage White, (Used)
Description
The Yamaha PAC311H Pacifica in Vintage White is a higher-spec hardtail Pacifica that combines the familiar comfort of Yamaha’s long-running electric-guitar platform with a much more distinctive pickup layout than the usual HSS configuration.
An Alnico V P-90-style neck pickup provides a broad, articulate single-coil voice, while the bridge position uses an Alnico V humbucker for fuller rock and lead tones. A push/pull coil split adds a leaner bridge sound, giving the PAC311H considerable flexibility without overcomplicating the controls.
Premium practical touches include Grover locking tuners, a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and fixed hardtail bridge, making it a particularly dependable choice for rehearsal, recording and live use.
This Pre-Owned Vintage White example is offered in Very Good condition and is supplied without a case or gigbag.

Why Choose The Yamaha PAC311H?
P-90-Style Neck Pickup
The neck position uses an Alnico V P-90-style single coil, giving the PAC311H a broader and fuller neck sound than the narrower single coils found on many conventional Pacificas.
It works particularly well for blues, clean rhythm, indie, soul and more expressive lead playing.
Alnico V Bridge Humbucker
At the bridge, an Alnico V humbucker provides the additional output and body needed for rock rhythm, overdrive and lead work.
This gives the PAC311H substantially more punch than a conventional SSS guitar.
Push/Pull Coil Split
Pulling the tone control splits the bridge humbucker, creating a brighter and leaner alternative sound.
That gives the guitar additional flexibility for cleaner rhythm work and layered studio parts.
Grover Locking Tuners
Yamaha fits Grover locking tuners as standard.
They make string changes quicker and help minimise unnecessary string wraps around the tuning posts, contributing to a tidy and stable setup.
Graph Tech TUSQ Nut
The Graph Tech TUSQ nut is designed to provide smooth string movement and consistent contact at the nut.
Combined with the locking tuners and hardtail bridge, it forms a particularly practical tuning-stability package.
Fixed Hardtail Bridge
Unlike many Pacifica models, the PAC311H uses a fixed hardtail bridge rather than a tremolo.
That simplifies setup and makes the guitar particularly suitable for players who value stable tuning, lower-maintenance hardware or alternate tunings.
Why Choose A P-90 And Humbucker Combination?
The P-90 and humbucker pairing gives the PAC311H a tonal identity quite different from the usual HSS Pacifica.
The neck pickup provides a clear but muscular single-coil response, while the bridge humbucker offers more compression and output.
This creates a useful contrast between the two positions without sacrificing the simplicity of a two-pickup guitar.
Comparison Against Popular Alternatives
PAC311H vs Yamaha PAC112V
The PAC112V uses the more familiar HSS layout and tremolo bridge. The PAC311H moves towards a more specialised specification with P-90 neck pickup, hardtail bridge, locking tuners and TUSQ nut.
PAC311H vs Yamaha PAC611H
The PAC611H takes the same broad concept further with more premium pickup and hardware choices. The 311H delivers much of the same practical layout at a more accessible level.
PAC311H vs Fender Telecaster
Both can appeal to players who favour fixed bridges and straightforward controls. The Yamaha provides a fuller P-90 neck sound and humbucker bridge voice rather than traditional Tele single coils.
PAC311H vs Les Paul Junior-Style Guitar
A Junior-style guitar typically centres around a single P-90. The Yamaha adds a second pickup, coil-splitting and a longer 25.5" scale, giving it far greater tonal versatility.
Who Is It For?
Rock Players
The bridge humbucker provides enough power for driven rhythm and lead sounds.
Blues Guitarists
The neck P-90-style pickup delivers plenty of midrange character and touch sensitivity.
Indie And Alternative Players
The combination of P-90, humbucker and split-humbucker sounds works especially well with modulation, delay, fuzz and ambient effects.
Studio Musicians
The contrasting pickup voices allow several different textures to be recorded from one instrument.
Players Who Do Not Need A Tremolo
The fixed bridge keeps the setup simple and stable, making it ideal for anyone who rarely uses a vibrato system.

Story & Context: Yamaha Pacifica 311H
The Pacifica range has been part of Yamaha’s electric-guitar family since the early 1990s and has become particularly well known for combining comfortable modern playability with excellent value.
The PAC311H appeared in Yamaha’s early-2010s Pacifica range as a more affordable interpretation of the PAC611H concept.
Rather than simply adding cosmetic upgrades to a PAC112, Yamaha gave the model its own personality through the P-90/humbucker pickup layout, hardtail bridge, locking tuners and upgraded nut.
The result is one of the more distinctive Pacificas in the range: familiar in shape and feel, but noticeably different in both sound and hardware.

Why Buy Pre-Owned From Fair Deal Music?
The PAC311H is particularly attractive Pre-Owned because much of its value lies in practical hardware upgrades already fitted from the factory.
Grover locking tuners, a TUSQ nut, hardtail bridge and versatile pickups mean there is little need to immediately budget for common aftermarket improvements.
Every Pre-Owned guitar at Fair Deal Music is individually checked and assessed before sale.
Fair Deal Music Verdict
★★★★★ 5/5
The Yamaha PAC311H Pacifica Vintage White is one of the more interesting guitars in the traditional Pacifica range.
Rather than trying to cover every sound with three pickups and a tremolo, it focuses on a particularly useful combination of P-90 neck tone, humbucker power and hardtail stability.
The Grover locking tuners and TUSQ nut are also meaningful upgrades rather than cosmetic extras.
Best suited for: Rock, blues, indie and alternative players wanting a versatile fixed-bridge guitar.
Customers usually upgrade from: PAC112 models, entry-level Strat-style guitars and basic HSS electrics.
Most commonly paired with: Valve amplifiers, overdrive, fuzz, distortion, delay and reverb.
Our tip: Try the neck P-90 with the guitar volume rolled back slightly. It produces an excellent dynamic clean-to-crunch sound through an edge-of-breakup amplifier.
Showroom feedback: The PAC311H feels less like an upgraded beginner Pacifica and more like its own model. The P-90/humbucker combination gives it a noticeably different personality from the rest of the range.
