Pairs well with
Description
The Yamaha SA1100 in Natural is a high-quality semi-hollow electric guitar built around a classic double-cutaway design, set-neck construction and versatile dual-humbucker electronics.
The SA series has long been appreciated for combining the warmth and resonance of a semi-hollow body with the solid feel, sustain and feedback resistance required for stage use.
This particular example has also been modified with an additional phase switch for the bridge humbucker, expanding the standard tonal palette with a thinner, more cutting out-of-phase character when used in combination with the neck pickup.
This Pre-Owned example is in Very Good condition, weighs an actual 8.4 lbs, and includes a hardcase.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
The SA1100 offers the warmth and openness associated with a classic semi-hollow guitar while retaining enough focus and sustain for blues, rock, jazz and higher-gain playing.
The dual-humbucker layout provides familiar thick neck and bridge tones, while the added phase switch gives this example a useful additional voice that a standard SA1100 does not normally offer.
At 8.4 lbs, it also has a reassuringly substantial feel without becoming excessively heavy for a semi-hollow instrument.
DETAILED FEATURES & BENEFITS
Semi-Hollow Construction
The SA1100 uses a semi-hollow body format that provides greater resonance and acoustic character than a conventional solid body while remaining more controlled than a fully hollow guitar.
Natural Finish
The Natural finish gives the guitar a classic and understated appearance while allowing the wood grain to remain visible.
Set Mahogany Neck
The set mahogany neck provides a strong connection between neck and body and contributes to the sustained, smooth response associated with this style of guitar.
Rosewood Fingerboard
The rosewood fingerboard provides a familiar and comfortable playing surface with a traditional semi-hollow aesthetic.
22-Fret Layout
The 22-fret neck provides the classic range associated with many semi-hollow electric guitars while retaining comfortable upper-register access.
Dual Humbuckers
The two humbuckers provide a broad range of warm, full-bodied sounds.
The neck pickup is well suited to rounded clean and lead tones, while the bridge pickup provides more attack and definition.
Added Phase Switch
This individual guitar has been modified with an added phase switch for the bridge humbucker.
When used with both pickups selected, phase reversal can create a thinner, more nasal and cutting sound that works especially well for funkier rhythm work, blues and more unusual lead tones.
Traditional Control Layout
Separate Volume and Tone controls for the two pickups allow each position to be adjusted independently.
This gives the player plenty of control over balance and overall tonal character.
Fixed Bridge & Stopbar
The Tune-O-Matic-style bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide stable tuning, straightforward intonation adjustment and a familiar semi-hollow playing feel.
8.4 lbs Actual Weight
This individual guitar weighs 8.4 lbs, giving buyers a precise indication of how this specific example will feel.

HOW IT COMPARES
SA1100 vs Solid Body Guitar
A solid-body guitar generally produces a tighter and more focused response.
The SA1100 adds more openness and acoustic resonance while still retaining good sustain.
SA1100 vs Fully Hollow Guitar
A fully hollow guitar often has more acoustic character but can be more susceptible to feedback at higher stage volumes.
The semi-hollow SA1100 offers a more controlled response.
Standard SA1100 vs This Example
A standard SA1100 uses conventional dual-humbucker switching.
This guitar adds a bridge pickup phase switch, giving it an additional out-of-phase sound when the pickups are combined.
