The Yamaha YDP-146R Arius Digital Piano Bundle in Dark Rosewood provides a complete home-piano setup built around Yamaha's latest 88-note Arius digital piano, together with a matching-style Stagg PBF39 RWM VBK adjustable piano bench and Yamaha HPH-50B headphones for private practice.

At the heart of the package is the Yamaha YDP-146R Arius Digital Piano in Dark Rosewood.

Its 88-note Graded Hammer Standard – GHS keyboard uses graduated weighting across the keyboard, with a heavier response towards the bass and progressively lighter response towards the treble.

The principal piano Voice is sampled from Yamaha's flagship CFX concert grand piano, while Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite – VRM Lite recreates elements of the sympathetic resonance produced as strings, keys and pedals interact inside an acoustic piano.

The YDP-146 also provides 192-note polyphony, 10 Voices, 353 preset Songs, three pedals with half-pedal support, two-track MIDI recording, Bluetooth Audio and MIDI, USB audio, Smart Pianist compatibility and Yamaha's Stereophonic Optimizer. Yamaha also equips the latest YDP-146 with 12cm speakers featuring diffuser grilles, helping create a clearer and more balanced sound field.

This Fair Deal Music bundle adds two especially useful accessories.

The Stagg PBF39 RWM VBK adjustable piano bench features a rosewood matt finish with a black velvet fireproof top, providing a visually complementary dedicated playing seat. The Yamaha HPH-50B closed-back headphones then make quiet practice possible whenever the built-in speakers are not appropriate.

For beginners, students, families and returning pianists, this creates a practical and coordinated complete home-piano package.

WHY THIS BUNDLE MAKES SENSE

A proper home piano setup needs more than just the instrument itself.

The player needs a suitable seat.

And in most homes, the ability to practise quietly becomes invaluable sooner or later.

This bundle addresses both requirements immediately.

The Stagg adjustable bench provides a proper dedicated playing position and visually complements the YDP-146R's darker wood-effect cabinet.

The Yamaha HPH-50B headphones then allow private practice whenever the internal speakers would be disruptive.

That makes the package especially practical for:

• Family homes

• Piano students

• Shared accommodation

• Flats and apartments

• Evening practice

• Early-morning practice

• Lessons

• Homes with several players

YAMAHA YDP-146R – A MODERN ARIUS HOME PIANO

The YDP-146 sits within Yamaha's Arius family of home digital pianos.

Its design centres firmly around piano playing.

You get:

• 88 weighted keys

• Yamaha CFX concert grand sampling

• VRM Lite

• Three pedals

• Built-in speakers

• Sliding key cover

• Integrated music rest

• Headphone practice

• MIDI recording

• Bluetooth

• USB audio

• Smart Pianist integration

Rather than trying to behave like an arranger keyboard or workstation, the YDP-146 is designed to feel like a dedicated home piano.

88-NOTE GRADED HAMMER STANDARD KEYBOARD

The YDP-146R uses Yamaha's Graded Hammer Standard – GHS keyboard.

Its weighting changes across the 88-note range:

• Heavier towards the bass

• Progressively lighter towards the treble

This reflects the broad weighting relationship found across an acoustic piano keyboard.

For a developing pianist, a full-size weighted keyboard is especially important because it allows fingering, dynamics, technique and repertoire to be practised across the correct piano range.

MATT BLACK KEYTOPS

The GHS keyboard uses matt black keytops.

The non-gloss finish gives the black keys a more tactile surface and contributes to the piano-focused feel of the instrument. Yamaha lists the YDP-146 keyboard as GHS with matt black keytops.

YAMAHA CFX CONCERT GRAND PIANO VOICE

The principal piano Voice is sampled from Yamaha's flagship CFX concert grand piano.

The CFX provides a powerful, expressive tonal foundation for:

• Piano lessons

• Grade repertoire

• Classical practice

• Contemporary playing

• Everyday home performance

VIRTUAL RESONANCE MODELING LITE – VRM LITE

An acoustic piano does not produce sound from individual strings in isolation.

Strings interact with one another.

Pedalling changes which strings are free to vibrate.

The whole instrument contributes to the resulting resonance.

Yamaha's Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite – VRM Lite recreates elements of these interactions digitally, helping the YDP-146 produce a more connected and expressive piano sound.

192-NOTE POLYPHONY

The YDP-146 provides 192-note maximum polyphony.

This gives the piano sufficient capacity for normal home repertoire, including passages with extensive use of the damper pedal.

10 BUILT-IN VOICES

The YDP-146 includes 10 Voices.

The instrument remains piano-focused, but its additional sounds provide useful variety for layering and recreational playing.

DUAL MODE

Dual mode allows two Voices to be layered across the keyboard.

For example:

Piano + Strings

DUO MODE

Duo divides the keyboard into two equivalent pitch ranges.

This is particularly useful for:

• Piano lessons

• Teacher and student

• Parent and child

• Demonstrating technique

• Side-by-side practice

THREE-PEDAL SYSTEM

The YDP-146 includes:

• Damper

• Sostenuto

• Soft

The damper pedal supports half-pedalling, allowing the pianist to control sustain according to how deeply the pedal is pressed.

DIFFUSER GRILLE SPEAKER DESIGN

Yamaha equips the YDP-146 with 12cm speakers using diffuser grilles.

Yamaha says the diffuser design helps treble frequencies remain clearer at a distance, contributing to a more balanced sound field for both the player and listeners.

BUILT-IN SPEAKER SYSTEM

The YDP-146 uses:

8W × 2 amplification

with:

12cm speakers with diffuser × 2.

No external amplification is required for normal home use.

INTELLIGENT ACOUSTIC CONTROL

Intelligent Acoustic Control – IAC adjusts tonal balance according to the selected volume level.

This helps keep the piano satisfying and balanced when played quietly.

PRIVATE HEADPHONE PRACTICE

The YDP-146 provides two standard stereo headphone outputs.

This bundle already includes Yamaha HPH-50B headphones, so private practice is available immediately.

This is especially useful when:

• Practising late at night

• Practising early in the morning

• Other people are watching television

• Children are asleep

• Living in a flat

• Sharing a home

STEREOPHONIC OPTIMIZER

Yamaha's Stereophonic Optimizer is designed to create a more natural sense of space when playing through headphones.

This helps private practice feel less confined than a conventional direct headphone signal.

BLUETOOTH AUDIO & MIDI

The YDP-146 includes Bluetooth connectivity for Audio and MIDI, subject to regional availability.

Bluetooth Audio

Stream compatible music wirelessly through the piano's built-in speaker system.

This can be useful for:

• Playing along with recordings

• Reference tracks

• Backing tracks

• General audio playback

Bluetooth MIDI

Bluetooth MIDI allows wireless communication with compatible music and learning applications.

SMART PIANIST

The YDP-146 works with Yamaha's Smart Pianist ecosystem.

This provides convenient access to supported piano settings and learning functions from a compatible smart device.

353 PRESET SONGS

The YDP-146 includes:

• 10 Voice Demo Songs

• 50 Classics

• 303 Lesson Songs

That gives developing pianists substantial built-in practice material.

TWO-TRACK MIDI RECORDING

The YDP-146 provides onboard MIDI recording with:

• 1 User Song

• 2 tracks

• Approx. 11,000-note capacity

This allows performances to be recorded for review and also makes it possible to record two parts separately.

USB AUDIO INTERFACE

The YDP-146 provides USB connectivity for digital audio communication with compatible computers and devices.

This makes it useful for:

• Online lessons

• Computer recording

• Music applications

• Educational software

• Digital practice workflows

🎵 FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★

Best suited for: Beginners, students, families and returning pianists who want a complete Yamaha home-piano setup in a warmer Dark Rosewood finish, with an adjustable matching-style bench and headphones included.

Likely upgrade path: An excellent move from smaller portable keyboards, unweighted beginner instruments or older entry-level digital pianos.

Useful pairings: Yamaha Smart Pianist on a compatible smartphone or tablet can add convenient control and access to the piano's built-in learning content.

Our tip: The rosewood matt Stagg bench is the right accessory choice for this version. It keeps the furniture aesthetic much more cohesive than pairing the Dark Rosewood piano with an unrelated black bench, while still providing the height adjustment that matters for correct posture.

FDM view: This bundle covers the fundamentals extremely well. The YDP-146R provides a proper 88-note weighted keyboard, Yamaha CFX sound, VRM Lite, three pedals and 192-note polyphony. The matching-style adjustable Stagg bench helps establish a comfortable playing position, while the Yamaha headphones cover quiet practice from day one.
